Obituary of Jose Rivera Jose M. Rivera, 77 of Jamestown went to be with the Lord on Thursday December 20, 2018 in UPMC Chautauqua WCA. He was born October 13, 1941 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Emilia Rivera. Jose attended school in Dunkirk, NY where he wrestled and boxed.

After high school he served his country by joining the U.S Navy where he served on the USS Cambria (APA36) at the Naval Amphibious base. After serving his country for 4 years Jose moved to Jamestown where he worked for Blackstone for 48 years before retiring in 2005. He loved fishing, bike riding, cooking, and dancing.

Jose enjoyed being outdoors and taking his family on little adventures. Jose was a husband, father, brother, and friend. Leaving behind to honor his legacy are his wife of 35 years Louise Rivera, his children, Donisha Hall of FL, Zammer Erving of NC, Soo Laine Erving of NY, Kim Erving of NY, Tracy Miller of NY, and Angie Miller of PA.

Also surviving are his grandchildren , great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jose is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Johnnie, Gino, and Richard. Calling hours will be Friday from 10am-12pm at Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
