Obituary of Richard Ferguson Richard W. Ferguson, 80, of 880 Hunt Road, Lakewood, formerly of 37 W. Columbia Avenue, West Ellicott, passed away Tuesday December 25, 2018. An area resident all of his life, he was born March 10, 1938, a son of the late Donald and Margaret Gladis Ferguson. He attended Celoron Elementary School, however, diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome, he had no opportunity for formal education.

He attended Senior Adult Day Hab. He was a gentle giant with radiant blue eyes whose smile would melt your heart. He enjoyed long walks, working in the yard with his mother and sitting on the porch putting puzzles together.

The family wishes to thank the staff of IRA and Adult Daycare for all their help and care. Surviving are his sister Susan Rohlin of West Ellicott; nephew Bryan Rohlin of Jacksonville, FL; niece Wendy Rohlin of West Ellicott; great niece Debi Rohlin and great nephews Kevin and Patrick Rohlin. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Donald Ferguson.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fragile X Foundation, 1861 International Drive, Suite 200, McLean, VA 22102 or Mind Institute, UC Davis Health System, 2825 50th Street, Sacramento, CA 95817.
