Obituary of Theodore Jackson Theodore M. Jackson 88, of Lovall Ave. , passed away Tuesday November 6, 2018 at the Lutheran Retirement Home. A lifelong area resident, he was born October 9, 1930 in Jamestown, a son of the late Elmer and Edith Nelson Jackson.

He was a graduate of Frewsburg Central School and a 1951 graduate of Jamestown Business College. He also attended Jamestown Community College. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served from 1951 to 1955 in the 99th A & E Maintenance Squadron during the Korean War, and later in the Air Force Reserve from 1955 to 1959 and the Navy Reserve from 1977 to 1979.

In earlier years, he was employed by Marlin Rockwell Corp. and the Burroughs Corp. Later, he owned and operated American Office Equipment Co., providing sales and service for check writing and signing equipment.

He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church where he had been an usher, Sunday school teacher, and treasurer and president of the Fellowship Guild. Other memberships include Ingjald Lodge #65 I.O.V., Thule Lodge #127, Ira Lou Spring Post #149 American Legion, American Scandinavian Heritage Foundation, and had also served as a Republican committeeman. Ted married his wonderful loving wife, Johanne Luce Jackson on June 29, 1957.

She had been a school nurse practitioner for the Jamestown Public School System for 21 years prior to her retirement in 1995. She passed away in 1996. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Emory Jackson who had served with the 1st Marine Division during WWII.

Surviving are a son, Mark Jackson and daughter in law Jennifer Helmer of Greensboro, NC; a daughter, Deborah Jackson of Jamestown; and two grandsons, Cody Jackson of Washington; and Benjamin Jackson of Greensboro, NC. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Lake View Cemetery. Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Lutheran Church, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or a charity of choice.
