Obituary of Hager Watson Hager E. Watson, 80, of Jamestown, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018, in his home. A lifelong area resident, he was born August 16, 1938 in Jamestown, NY, a son of the late Halbert and Eleanor Hager Watson. Hager was a graduate of Jamestown High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in education from the State University of New York at Fredonia.

Before his retirement, he was employed by the Jamestown Board of Education as an elementary school teacher, teaching fifth grade at Bush Elementary School and Rogers Elementary School. Hager and his wife Sharon were successful and well known breeders and exhibitors of Afghan Hound show dogs. They also showed other breeds of dogs and had a great love for Italian Greyhounds and Salukis.

His love for dogs and showing never waned. Hager was a life member of the Conewango Valley Kennel Club, the Afghan Hound Club of America, the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club and the National Rifle Association. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon Rolfe Watson whom he married in 1960 and who died January 6, 2015.
