Aylonna Tashonn “Lonnie” Benford, daughter of Ira Benford and the late Pearlie Macklin Quinn, was born September 24, 1973 in Muncie, IN. She attended and was a graduate of Muncie Central High School and decided to make her permanent home in Muncie. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and, as an adult, joined True Vine Holiness Tabernacle where her pastor was Apostle Dr. Wade D. Sloss.

Aylonna was a devoted mother and joy to all who met her. She spent her early years of her career as a caretaker assisting both the elderly and those in need of assistance. She later went on to work at General Motors Assembly in Fort Wayne, IN where she continued to touch the lives of her coworkers through her presence and work.

She parted this life on June 29, 2018 at IU Ball Memorial Health Hospital in Muncie, IN after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Aylonna’s beautiful life will be cherished forever by her children: John Boyd IV and Bennie E. McCoy, Jr. both of Muncie, IN and Jayla McCoy of Austin, TX; three siblings, Kevin Benford, Tameka Benford and Tyree Benford all of Muncie, IN; father, Ira Benford of Muncie, IN; aunts and uncles, Linda Benford-Brown, Diane Johnson, Jackie Benford, Robin Harris, Ruth Murphy, Helen Burden, Susie Evans, Arther Quinn, Jr. and Stanley Benford; devoted family and friends, Canece Benford, Tracie Johnson, Richard McCoy, Jasmin McCoy, John Boyd, Sr. and Bennie McCoy, Sr.; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearlie Macklin Quinn who left this Earth in 2001.
