Mrs. Barbara Evelyn Hardison Woodward, age 97, of Lewisburg, was born on February 12, 1921, and entered into eternal rest on January 28, 2019. Mrs. Woodward is a native of Marshall County where she graduated from Marshall County High School. She started her insurance career at Lewisburg Insurance Agency with her husband Paul C. Woodward, along with T.L. Cathey, J.W. Gibson, and Tommy Cathey.

She then went on to finish her career at Collins and Miller Insurance. She retired at the young age of 92. At her retirement, she was recognized by Gov.

Bill Haslam for being the most senior active licensed insurance agent in the State of Tennessee. Barbara was a wonderful bridge player and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and tennis. She was also an avid Bingo player.

She was the daughter of the late Joe Baxter Hardison and Harriet Virginia Braden Hardison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Carroll Woodward, and her daughter Joe Carol Woodward. She is survived by three daughters, Sandra (the late Hardy) Moyers of Nashville, Susan (Ron) Simpson of Murfreesboro, and Sharon (Dennis) Deitz of Lewisburg, and one son, Paul Steven (the late Mitzi) Woodward of Lewisburg, four grandchildren Ali Simpson, Mike (Rhonda) Moyers,Sam Moyers, Stevie (Ben) Hazard and six great-grandchildren, Dylan, Taylor, and Talen Hazard, and Jonathan, Cara, and Ashland Moyers.

Family graveside services will be conducted on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 12 noon at Lone Oak Cemetery with burial to follow. Visitation with the family will be conducted on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 pm at London Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassus Hospice, 10 Cadillac Drive, Suite 400 Brentwood, TN 37027.
