Barbara J. Marsilii, age 76, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018. Barbara was the daughter of the late and Daniel V. and Frances Verderamo Jordan. Barbara has been an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish since 1968.

She met her husband Ron at the first Italian Festival and has been married for 41 years. They were members of the Festival Committee and worked the festival for many years. She grew up in Christ Our King Parish and sang in the children’s choir and adult choir.

Graduated from St. Elizabeth’s High School and was a member of the Glee Club, performed in many concerts and was assistant director in the Dramatic Club. Was a member of the Wilmington Opera Society and sang in the chorus in “Aida”, “La Perichole”, “The Masked Ball”, “The Gypsy Baron “ and “II Trovatore”. She also was a chorus member in the Lyceum Players production of “Antony & Cleopatra” at Longwood Gardens.

She graduated from the Philadelphia Modeling and Charm School and did semi-professional modeling in Philadelphia and Delaware. After 48 years of service she retired from E. I. du Pont De Nemours & Company as a Consultant-Executive Compensation. She was a 50 year member of the DuPont Country Club, was president of the Active Women’s Social Group and chaired Luncheon Fashion Shows and Special Theme Dinner Shows.

As a member of St. Anthony’s, Barbara was Past President of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality and sang in the former Chamber Choir. In May of 2012 she completed 6 years as a member of the Parish Council. She continues the duties associated with the Church’s Visitor’s Sign in Book and as a member of the Liturgy Committee and Parish Welcoming Team.

On occasions she would sing duets at Mass with her sister Rose Marie J. Piccolo, who was a Cantor, Song Leader and Soloist at St. Anthony’s. Barbara is survived by her husband of 41 years, Ronald P. Marsilii, 2 sisters, Rose Marie Piccolo (Robert) and Dorothy J. Cranston (John) and 2 nephews, J. Alan Cranston Jr (fiancée, Roxanne Murray) and George F. Cranston (fiancée, Erin Slattery), her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Robert Lloyd. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, October 23rd at 11 AM at St. Anthony of Padua R. C. Church, 9th & Dupont Sts, where friends may call from 10 to 11.

Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made to St. Anthony’s Church, 901 N. Dupont St, Wilmington, DE 19805.
