Obituary for Barbara Jean Padgett NILES – Barbara Jean Padgett, 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning June 20, 2018 at her home. She was born in Luverne, Minnesota on November 16, 1950 the daughter of Elmer and Arlene (Stuckenbroker) Sievert. She received a business degree in accounting from the Nettleton Community College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and throughout her career she worked at various companies in the accounts receivable and payable departments.

She retired in November of 2012 from the EFCO Company. Barb and her husband, Dan moved to Niles in 2013 from Iowa and became active members of the Niles First Baptist Church where she was the Missionary treasurer and the head of the Social Committee. She enjoyed knitting, crafting, baking and hosting people in her home.

Most of all, she cherished and loved the time spent with her family. Barbara is survived by her husband, Dan F. Padgett whom she married on December 27, 1974; two daughters, Jen Burman and her husband Rev. Dave Jr. of Howland, Aimee Phillips and her husband Derek of Ankeny, Iowa; six grandchildren, Damon, David III, Daniel, Derek, Alyssa, Kate; three brothers, Darwin (Judy) Sievert, Arlyn (Linda) Sievert, Darrell (Shiela) Sievert; sister, Marlene (Mick) McKee; brother-in-law, Kemp Ellingson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Deb Ellingson. A Memorial Service will be Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Niles First Baptist Church where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
