Obituary for Terry “Ted” Clay Sr. NILES – Terry E. “Ted” Clay Sr., 71, passed away peacefully at 7:35 p.m. on Saturday April 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loved ones following a short illness. He was born in Flatwoods, Kentucky on September 26, 1946 the son of George and Margaret (Waddell) Clay Sr. Ted spent his career working for the City of Niles, the tree department and retired from the street department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, golfing and especially cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.

Ted is survived his wife Argie Kay (Papalas) Clay whom he married on July 30, 1988; six children, Brian (Debbie Hilty) Clay of Warren, Terry E. Clay Jr. of McDonald, Courtney (Tim) Mallory of Niles, Lynn Ann Groves of Niles, Kathy Clark of Erie, Pennsylvania, Gretchen (Robert) Hanshaw of Niles; many grandchildren, especially Dayva Lee Clay and Dominic Laighton Sayers; brother, George R. Clay of California; four sisters, Blanche Jean Brooks of California, Lois Nickell of Howland, Elaine Young of California, Renee Gallagher of Alliance; brothers in law, Steve Papalas and Nick (Ruth) Papalas. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Wendy Lee Clay; son, Corey Clay, two brothers, David P. Clay, Denver Young and sister, Katherine G. Jones. A Memorial Service will be Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
