Carl E. Dockery of Warren passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 7:13 a.m. at his residence. He was 89. Mr. Dockery was born in East Chicago, Indiana on November 29, 1928, the son of Coral B. and Hazel Watson Dockery.

He was a 1948 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Following high school, Carl proudly served our country as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp. working as a telephone linesman during WWII and the Korean War.

After leaving the Marines, Carl worked for Thomas Steel Strip Corporation for over 40 years as a steel slitter. Mr. Dockery was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Warren. In his spare time, he loved bird hunting and fly fishing.

He was known for making beautifully intricate lures by hand. He is survived by his wife, Donna (Rutherford) Dockery, whom he married on November 28, 1998, of Warren; his daughter, Lynn Johnman of Champion; a daughter-in-law, Jeanie Dockery of Warren; a stepson, Kevin White; a stepdaughter, Amanda White; 7 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Mr. Dockery was preceded in death by a son, Gary Dockery; a son-in-law David Johnman; a stepson Kenneth White; and 2 brothers.
