Obituary for Barbara Meades Barbara Jean Meades, born February 18, 1935 in Jackson, LA, and a resident of Zachary, LA, died on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Lane Regional Medical Center. She was a 1953 graduate of Pine Grove High School; a 1957 graduate of Centenary College; and from 1963 to her retirement in 1990, she worked as a librarian at Louisiana State University. She was an avid baker, reader, historian, and genealogical researcher.

She was a member of numerous clubs and organizations including Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma. There will be a visitation at Zachary United Methodist Church on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 9am until funeral services at 11am, conducted by Rev. Ricky Willis.

Burial will be at Center Cemetery in Greensburg. Pallbearers will be Donald “Skip” Hudson, David Morris, Travis Hebert, Ronald D. Traylor, and Mackenzie Boyd. She was survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
