Barbara Newberry, 70, of Mt. Sterling, died Friday, July 20, 2018. Born March 15, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Virginia Loudermilk and Earl Gordon.

She was a barber by trade and a member of the Christian faith. She was a member of the Jeffersonville Senior Citizens. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, primitives and cookouts.

She loved life and her family and friends. Survivors include her daughter, Penny Leann Deskins of Mt. Sterling, son, Christopher Sean Deskins of Pikeville and three grandchildren, Eric Peyton Justice of Madison, Indiana, Kristia and Cheyenne Deskins of Pikeville.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Gordon and a sister, Mary Betts. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
