Florene Long-Hart, 85, of Sharpsburg, died Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at her residence. She was born March 3, 1933 in Mt. Sterling to the late Millard Fillmore and Mattie Barnes Long.

Florene was a native of Bath County and was of the Christian faith. She retired from Traditional Bank and enjoyed; traveling, the beach, sunshine, needlepoint, crafts and her flower garden. Florene volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, and she loved her dogs.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include; her loving husband Charles H. Hart of Sharpsburg; one son, Charles “Chad” H. Hart II (Vicki) of Martin; one daughter Joy L. Hart of Louisville; one brother Dr. Robert J. Long (Mary) of Berea; one sister Janice Long-Detore of FL; one grandson Trevor Hart of Sharpsburg; one great granddaughter Amerleigh R. Terry of Owingsville and two sister’s in-law Betty Long and Janice Long. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers Wayne Long, Leonard Long and Larry W. Long and three sisters Joyce Long, Grace P. Gaston and Mary M. Horn.

Services to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to St. Claire Hospice, Sharpsburg Community Center or any charity of your choice.
