Obituary of Barton Ritter Barton Lee “Bud” Ritter, 83, of Julian, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Hearthside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born December 16, 1934, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Luther Ritter and Elizabeth Shugarts Ritter Brumbaugh. On April 15, 1955 he married Evelyn Louise Ritter, who survives.

Barton is also survived by his son Robert L. Ritter and his wife, Kim, of Bellefonte; his sister Barbara Lash of Lewistown; and his three grandchildren Travis Schindler, Lindsey Schindler and Ryan Ritter. He was also survived by his niece and five nephews. Barton was preceded in death by his sister Frances Owens Breiner and his brother Luther Ritter, Jr

He was a 1953 graduate of Lewistown High School. Barton worked for Corning Glass Works for many years before his retirement. Barton enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Visitation will be 1 until 2 p.m., Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the funeral home with Celebrant Jackie Hook officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association at 135 Parkinson Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10305. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College. Online condolences and signing of the guest book may be entered at www.
