Beatrice Neal, 95, of LeClaire, Iowa, died Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Riverview Manor in Pleasant Valley, Iowa. She had been in failing health for several years. Graveside services will be at Oakdale Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, October 9 at 2:00 pm.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church in LeClaire or King’s Harvest Pet Rescue No Kill Shelter in Davenport. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

She was born Beatrice Alaine Glaspell on June 24, 1923 in Davenport, to the Rev. Albert and Lilly (Ainsley) Glaspell. On May 26, 1951, she married Raymond Albert Stas in Davenport.

They established a home in Pleasant Valley, on the banks of the Mississippi River. They had been married 11 years when Raymond passed away on July 13, 1962. Bea later married Ted R. Neal on August 6, 1965.

They lived in Pleasant Valley for several years, before moving to LeClaire. She worked as a secretary for the Davenport School District for many years, until her retirement in 1988. She had many dogs over the years, and they were her pride and joy.

Bea was a member of First Presbyterian Church in LeClaire. She is survived by her sister, Marjorie Mason, of Rock Island, Illinois, and two nieces, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews. Bea was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, her sister, Jeane Rensberger, of Cromwell, Indiana, a niece, and a nephew.
