Beatrice “Bea” Ann Gray, 79, of Spring Street, Martinsville, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019, at home. She was born October 9, 1939, in Franklin County, Virginia to the late Melvin Wilson Stump and India Clay Ferguson Stump. She attended school in Pittsylvania County and received her GED.

She worked for Pannill Knitting Mill for more than 22 years. Bea was a member of the Abundant Life Pentecostal Holiness Church in Collinsville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Franklin Gray; six brothers, Wayne, Cecil, Ray, Billy, David and Clyde; and one sister, Wanda Swinney.

Bea is survived by a daughter, Ellen Gray Smallwood of Collinsville; two sons, Nelson Franklin Gray of Martinsville and Jimmy Ray Meyers, Sr. of Stoneville, NC; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lelia S. Allen, and Nancy Hogan. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Susan Adkins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home, and other times at the home on Spring Street.
