Obituary for Beatrice Jones Beatrice Elizabeth Head Jones, age 94, of Springfield, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at her home. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11am in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Steve Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with Will Freeman Oliver, Jerome Ellis, Todd Jones, Jason Johnson, Randall Jones and Eddie Long serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 4-8pm and again on Monday from 9am until the hour of service at 11am. Mrs. Jones was born November 26, 1923 in Cedar Hill to the late Will Ewing and Martha Elizabeth Williams Head. She worked at Acme Boot for many years and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Jones is preceded in death by her husband, Bethel Davis Jones; her brothers, Alvie Head, A.T. Head, John E. Head and Will E. Head, Sr.; sisters, Lorene H. Oliver, Irene H. Lee and Pauline Head; and her great-granddaughter, Kierstyn Smith. Mrs. Jones is survived by her sons, Bethel (Joyce) Jones, Jr. of Cedar Hill and Ray Jones of Knoxville; daughter, Martha Kay Jones Haynes of Clarksville; grandchildren, Jason (Elley) Johnson, Todd (Susan) Jones, Charae (Harvey) Smith, Randall Jones, Angelia (Keith) Koski and Sherry (Michael) West; and great-grandchildren, Gabriel Johnson, Evie Johnson, Dylan Jones, Cailen Smith, J.P. Gleckler, Morgan Gleckler and Mattie Koski. Mrs. Jones is also survived by special friends of her family, Bill Edington and her caregiver, Tissy Murphy.
