Obituary for Bernard “Bernie” Andreasen Bernard “Bernie” Andreasen, 93, of Grand Island, Nebraska formerly of Hordville, died Monday, November 5, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society in Grand Island. Memorial services will be Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. Visitation will be Friday, November 9, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Hordville, Nebraska.

Burial will be in the Hordville Cemetery in Hordville. Bernie was born on June 17, 1925 in Berwyn, Nebraska to Einer and Violet (Wrasse) Andreasen. He grew up in the Marquette area and graduated from Marquette High School in 1942.

He was united in marriage to Agnes Benson on June 20, 1946 in Hordville, Nebraska. Bernie farmed for over 45 years and still went to the farm even after retirement. Bernie and Agnes moved to Grand Island in 1987 and Bernie started a stump grinding business.

He enjoyed this business very much and continued it until he was 80 years old. Bernie was a member of Fridhem Lutheran Church where he served on the church council. He was on the Hordville School Board, and also sat on the Hordville Elevator Board.

He was also a member of the Hordville Lions Club. He enjoyed woodworking and any kind of tinkering. He even made Christmas gifts for his children.

He is survived by his wife- Agnes of 72 years of Grand Island,NE; two daughters and their spouses- Linda and Ken Klaasmeyer of Elkhorn, NE; Becky Andreasen and L.D. Glatter of Holton, KS; one son- Todd and Vicki Andreasen of Hordville, NE; son in law- Jim Truell of Grand Island, NE; sister in law- Beth Andreasen of Aurora, NE; six grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Bernie was preceded in death by his parents: one son- Tommy Andreasen; one daughter- Karla Andreasen; one grandson- Adam Sawyers; one brother- Harold Andreasen.
