Bernard David Gratzer, Sr., 86, of Owensboro, died Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Columbia Healthcare Center in Evansville. He was born on March 5, 1932 in Daviess County to the late Ernest & Mabel Gratzer. Bernard owned and operated Bernard’s TV repair for over 40 years.

He was an avid reader, he took great joy in traveling to the places he read about after he retired. Bernard was a life time tinkerer and was very proud of the house he built with his brother. He is preceded in death by his son, David Gratzer; four brothers, Ernest Joseph, Peter Matthew, Herbert Marion, and Robert Herman Gratzer; two sisters, Louise Gertrude Gratzer and Mabel J. Long.

Survivors include his sons, Chris (Lana) and Joseph “Mike” (Harmony); three grandsons, Oliver David and Frank Joseph Gratzer and Timothy Perkins, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 10:00 on Wednesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 on Tuesday and after 9:00 on Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6100 Dutchman’s Lane, Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205.
