Roy Houser, 88, of Owensboro died on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Paducah on June 14, 1930 to the late Lorenzo Dow Houser and Ethie Dunaway Houser. Roy retired from Kentucky Farm Bureau after 46 1/2 years of service where he worked as an Insurance Adjuster.

He was a faithful member of Southside church of Christ where he also had served as a Deacon. Roy served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was never at a loss for words and had the ability to meet a stranger and after talking for a few minutes, they would visit as lifelong friends.

His passions in life were God, his family, cars, UK Basketball, and St Louis Cardinals Baseball. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Emma Jean Houser; a son, Kevin Houser of Owensboro; a daughter, Robin Houser Moore and her husband, Mark, of Covington, LA; four grandchildren, Dr. Joshua Moore, Cooper Jack Moore, Emily Houser, and Sophie Houser; a step-granddaughter, Caitlin Semian; and a sister, Lydia Rhea Morris. Services will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at James H Davis Funeral Home & Crematory.

Burial with Military Honors will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and on Wednesday from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Genesis Owensboro Center, Attn: Activities Department, 1205 Leitchfield Road, Owensboro, KY 42303.
