Edward W. Roberson, 85, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at his residence. He was born on April 5, 1933 in Batesville, Mississippi to the late Eldon and Berthine Varner Roberson. He retired after 40 years from Texas Gas as a supervisor of computer maintenance.

Edward was an U.S. Army veteran and a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing golf and loved his church and his children. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Kathlyn Rutherford and his brothers, E.H. Roberson and Varner Roberson.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Louise Roberson; a son, Charles Roberson (Janet); daughter, Veda Wylie (Marty); three grandchildren, Heather Wylie, Christopher Matthews and Brice Matthews; five great-grandchildren, Destiny Matthews, MaKaylee Matthews, Alivia Matthews, Avery Matthews and Emerson Matthews; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Lewis Lane Baptist Church, Owensboro, with Rev. Glenn Armstrong officiating.

Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory and after 10 a.m. on Friday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Lewis Lane Baptist Church, Christian Life Center, 2600 Lewis Lane, Owensboro, KY 42301.
