Bessie V. Duke, 78, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on November 10, 1939 in Breckinridge County, KY to the late Hardy and Mary Sosh Anthony. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Duke; daughters-in-law, Connie Duke, Stacy Duke, Anna Duke; and son-in-law, Mike Clements.

She is survived by her sons, Leo Duke, Ronnie Duke and Allen Duke (Cathy) all of Owensboro and David Duke (Tracy) of Utica; daughter, Marie Clements of Utica; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Francis Anthony; sister, Irene Rhineburger (James); and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 17, 2018 in the Chapel at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Nickel Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation is from 12 to 6 p.m. on Sunday and after 9 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Daviess County Animal Shelter, 2620 Highway 81, Owensboro, KY 42301.
