Bernice T. Allen was born in Searcy, AR to Otis and Narcissus Horton on November 27, 1921. She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. She married John C. Allen on February 5, 1946.

To this union, one daughter, Valerie was born. She was dedicated to her husband of 50 years; loved her family fiercely; and worked hard to provide for them even until the age of 83. Bernice was a member of the West Pleasure Church of Christ who even in her sickness made a point to get ready for worship.

Precious memories are left to her daughter; Valerie Jones (Derrick); two grandsons; Ronald and Lucious Hardin, four great-grandchildren; Orion Hulsey, Terrence Hardin, Cassidy Hardin, and Zemarkiah Johnson, two adopted grand-daugthers; Abigail Stone and Naomi Valentine. Plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
