Bernice’s Obituary Bernice C. Huber, 92, of Pierre, passed away May 29, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Monday, June 3, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church with interment following at Riverside Cemetery. Bernice Cecilia Huber was born to Adolph and Pauline (Mehlhaff) Sinkbeil in Zeeland, ND on March 4, 1927, the 11th of 12 children.

There she met and married Homer Huber on December 30, 1945. They lived in Tennessee for six months until Homer was discharged from the Navy. They then farmed near Cresbard, SD for a few years.

They moved to Minneapolis while Homer attended barber school. They moved to Pierre in 1950 where Bernice resided until her death. Bernice enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, reading, writing letters and gardening.

She loved her hybrid tea roses and irises and was awarded yard-of-the-month at age 85. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir, served on various committees, including the altar guild for 35 years until her health declined. Bernice is survived by her beloved children: Warren (Kaye) Huber, Paulette (Bill) Allwardt, Juanita Huber and Joel (Donna) Huber, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, one brother, two sisters and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, nine siblings, one nephew and one niece. In lieu of flowers, Bernice’s family suggest contributions be made to Faith Lutheran Preschool/Daycare, Faith Lutheran Altar Guild, or Countryside Hospice.
