Sellersburg, Indiana Bernice Hockersmith Montgomery, 96, entered eternal life on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Green Valley Care Center in New Albany. She was a Homemaker and member of the Sellersburg Church of Christ. Bernice enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harlan Hanger, her second husband, Jesse L. Montgomery, six siblings, a daughter, Joyce Ann Smith and a great-grandchild. Surviving are her children, Lawrence (Pauline) Montgomery, New Albany, Dorothy (Eddie) Miller, Sellersburg, Pamela (Ronald) Hickman, Dale, Indiana, Phyllis (Earl) Mullins, Charlestown, fifteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1PM Monday at the Sellersburg Church of Christ with burial to follow at Sellersburg Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8PM at the Garr Funeral Home and anytime after 11AM until the time of service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Portland Christian School, 8509 Westport Rd. , Louisville, Kentucky 40242, Sellersburg Church of Christ, 213 S. New Albany St., Sellersburg, Indiana 47172 or Maple Manor, 643 W. Utica St., Sellersburg, Indiana 47172.
