Bertha Anne Macijeski, age 78 of Wild Rose, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Rosemore Village. Bertha was born on June 17, 1940 the 9th child of the late Joseph and Theresia (Hiemer) Lindner in Buchenhüll, Germany. She married Daniel Macijeski on May 21, 1960 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in the Town of Belmont, Wisconsin.

Bertha & Danny raised their five children on their Wild Rose farm and then semi-retired to the lake life on Lake Kristine. Bertha worked as a CNA at the Wild Rose manor for many years until her full retirement. Bertha enjoyed time with her family, traveling, playing cards, snowmobiling, the outdoors, and gardening.

Bertha also enjoyed Polka dancing and going to the casino. Throughout the years Bertha joined a bowling league and once competed in a state bowling championship game. Bertha is survived by her children, Cynthia (Paul) Hudziak of Elgin, IL; James Macijeski of Neshkoro, WI; Steven (Karin) Macijeski of Fremont, WI; Luanne (John) Kaltenbrun of Milwaukee, WI; Daughter-in-law, Becky Macijeski of Pine River, WI; Grandchildren, Joshua; Kimberly and Christopher Macijeski; Joseph Hudziak; Andrea (Ming) Rattanavongkoth; Jenna (fiancé, Chris Martin) and Brianna Macijeski; Allison and Andrew Kaltenbrun; Great-Grandchild, Sophia Quinn Rattanavongkoth; Brother, Sixtus (Doris) Lindner; Brother/Sister-in-laws; nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbors and friends.

Bertha is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Danny; son, Pete; infant grandchildren; other brothers and sisters. Visitation will be 9:00am – 11:00am with a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am on Sat. , January 26th at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, located on Hwy 54 between Waupaca and Plover.

Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements. A special thanks to Ministry Ascension Hospice of Stevens Point and Rosemore Village of Wild Rose for their special care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bertha & Danny’s name to St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church.
