Bessie M. Jenkins, age 82 of Rosewood, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Urbana Health Rehab. She was born June 19, 1936 in St. Paris, OH to father Calvin Penley and mother Zella Thornton (Penley). She married Russell Jenkins on October 19, 1952 and he preceded her in death in 2010.

Bessie is survived by daughter Cathy (Mark) Brandyberry of Urbana; son Jeff (Tina) Jenkins of St. Paris; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren; sisters Pauline (Bud) Tinelli of Moorehead, KY, Janie (Kurt) Briggs of Russell, PA, Linda (Jim) Pompillo of Sugar Grove, PA; brothers Bud Penley of Port Jefferson, Jerry Penley of Piqua, James Penley of Sugar Grove, PA. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one son, Richard L. Jenkins. Bessie retired from Honeywell in Urbana after many years of service.

She loved to sew, knit, work in her garden, and make stained glass artwork. Graveside services will be held Monday, October 15, 2018 at Rosedale Cemetery in Rosewood, OH at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association in Bessie’s memory.
