Obituary for Beth Bakke Beth Bakke, age 71, Valley City, ND formerly of Wimbledon, ND passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City. A celebration of life will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018 in the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City, ND. The family will greet visitors an hour prior to the service.

Interment will take place at a later date. Elizabeth Marie (Mahlke) Bakke was born February 15, 1947 the daughter of Arthur and Helen ( Brady) Mahlke. Beth graduated from Wimbledon High School in 1965 and spent most of her life in Valley City, ND.

She worked at the Barnes County Courthouse in the Auditor’s Office for 47 years retiring in May of 2016. Beth married Gary Bakke of Valley City on November 16, 1971. Beth and Gary’s biggest enjoyment together was sharing their life with their feline companions over the years.

Beth loved spending time with her friends shopping and having lunch together at the Viking Rom. She was grateful for all the wonderful care she received at Mercy Hospital, Sanford, Legacy, the Sheyenne Care Center and Hospice. Beth is survived by her two sisters, Renee (Duane) Huber and Dee (Jeff) Greff.

She also had many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Especially close to her heart were Alex and Zach Greff. Also in her heart she held her Aunt Betty and Jeanne her sister-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary, her parents Art and Helen and special uncle, Larry Mahlke. In lieu of memorials and flowers and in honor of Beth, please donate to The Humane Society. That would be “purr”fect.
