Obituary for Donhold (Don) Conrad Lawrence Weber Donhold (Don) Conrad Lawrence Weber, the son of Conrad and Amelia (Hoff) Weber was born March 1, 1925 in Englevale ND. Don was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Valley City, ND. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Noltimier Township.
He graduated in 1943. In high school he enjoyed playing on the basketball team. After graduation, while farming on the family farm, he was drafted to serve his country in the US Army Infantry during World War II.
After his honorable discharge, he came home and farmed for a neighbor and also did some rodeoing. He later began boxing for the Upper Midwest Gold Gloves Boxing. Don moved to Montana and began his work career.
He first worked as a relief agent for the Milwaukee Railroad and was deputized as a Deputy Sheriff. He also served as a volunteer fire fighter. Don retired after 27 years as a Federal law enforcement agent with the US Department of Defense.
He moved back to Valley City and was an active member of his church, the American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed playing his guitar and traveled to many events in the US to enjoy country music. Of great importance to him was his recent visit to Washington DC to see the World War II Memorial.
Don is survived by his three brothers Gary, Laguna Woods, CA; Arnie, Boise, ID; and Merl, Greenville, SC; and several nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Vern and Rheinhold. Don died June 22, 2018 at the Sheyenne Care Center, Valley City at the age of 93.
The funeral service will be 10:30 Friday, June 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Thursday at the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel, Valley City and will continue one hour before the service at the church. Funeral arrangements for Don have been entrusted to the care of the Oliver-Nathan Funeral Chapel.
