Bettie Everett Cady, 86, of Orange, Texas, passed away on January 19, 2019, in Conroe, Texas. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Reverend Randy Branch and Reverend Keith Tilley.

Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Cemetery in Orange. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Watervalley, Mississippi, on November 2, 1932, she was the daughter of Howard W. Everett and Jon Estelle Venters.

Bettie was an expert seamstress and cook. She was a disciplinarian and a great mother who, by example, taught her children good work ethics, faith, and integrity. Bettie was a longtime member of Faith United Methodist Church where she served her Lord faithfully.

She worked as Store Manager at Guarantee Shoe Store for 20 years. She will be dearly missed by all those who came to know and love her. She was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Jon Everett; loving husband of 66 years, Robert “Bob” Cady; siblings, Marcia Williamson, Billie Barbuto, Harry Everett, Jack Everett, and twin sister, Bessie Lax; and step-mother, Lillian Everett.

She is survived by her children Coyolyn Hammett of Orange, Denise Bockoven and husband Neil of Spring, and Paul M. Cady of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren, Angelique Parsons and husband Brad, Tonia Ellis, Aston Aune and husband Tyler, and Amy Martin and husband Kyle; great-grandchildren, Kirsten Girlinghouse, Ty Ellis, Trent Norman, Breanna Norman, Olivia Aune, Samuel Aune, Kristen Martin, Eva Martin, Lilly Martin; great-great-grandchild, Nyxcelia Mathews; and brother, John Everett of Bridge City. Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Aune, Ty Ellis, Brad Parsons, Carey Barclay, Kyle Martin, Neil Bockoven, and Tonia Ellis. Serving as honorary pallbearer is John Everett.
