Obituary for Bettie Louise Brant Bettie Louise Brant, 94, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Glen Oaks Health Campus. She was born February 19, 1924 in Hagerstown, a daughter of the late Melvin and Lucy (Adams) Burelison. Bettie retired from Reid Hospital in Richmond, following 35 years of service as a nurse’s aide.

She attended Hillcrest Baptist Church in Richmond for many years. Bettie loved to fish, and greatly enjoyed music. She is survived by two sons, Errol (Marlene) Brant of Greens Fork, and Teryl “Terry” Brant of Richmond; a daughter, Carol Alcorn of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, William “Widdy” (Ahn) Burelison of Richmond; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Charles Brant; a daughter, Cheryl Loretta Howard; and a son, Jeryl “Jay” Brant; sister, Dehlia Ryan, and brothers, Howard, Ernest, and Hubert Burelison. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Chaplain Rick Alvey. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
