Betty C. Simon, 101, of Oxford passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019. Mrs. Simon was born May 21, 1918 in Oxford to Charlie and Nellie (Fort) Cockfield. She retired from Seaboard Railroad.

After living in several locations including Chicago, IL, Betty returned to Oxford from Longwood, FL. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oxford where she had taught Sunday School for many years. Betty enjoyed traveling, playing tennis and dancing.

Survivors include her stepdaughter, Jackie Simon; step-granddaughters, Mindy and Lisa; along with several nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Simon and sisters, Mildred Shaw and Irene Gates. Funeral services will be held in the Banks/Page-Theus Chapel at 2:00pm, Sunday, June 2, 2019 with visitation from 1:30 until 2:00pm.
