Betty Carol Brooks, 76 years old, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, last Sunday at Rhode Island Hospital after an illness. She was the former wife of the late Billy Eugene Phipps. Betty was born in Adams Grove, VA, a daughter of the late Hugh and Eva May (Lamb) Seal.

She was a home maker and had been a resident of Providence for several years. Betty was an avid puzzle maker, loved to cook for her family enjoyed being with her children and really enjoyed going to the Casinos Betty is survived by eight daughters, Kathy Rosenberg of Queens, NY, Carol Phipps, Joann Phippps Trott, Christine Brooks and Alexandra Brooks all of Providence, Samantha Phipps Moore of North Providence, Crystal Phipps Walker of Bristol, TN, Sandra Bishop of Martha’s Vineyard and Jessica Phipps of Cranston, she also leaves four sons, William Phipps and Larry Phipps both of Providence, George Brooks of Bristol, TN and Joshua Phipps of Cranston, RI , a brother Frank M. Seal of Virginia and a sister Peggy Seal also of Virginia, 18 Grandchildren , 15 Great Grandchildren and her pride and joy a Great Great Grandson. There will be a Gathering of Remembrance on Saturday, February 9th in the Charles Coelho Funeral Home, from 1 until 3 PM.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
