Betty “Carolyn” Bullard, 78, passed away peacefully, with her family be her side at her home in Surfside Beach, South Carolina on Friday, September 21, 2018. She was born on May 25, 1940 in Bennettsville, South Carolina to the late Paul Newton Driggers & Kathryn Adams Driggers. Along with her parents, Carolyn is reunited with her beloved husband of 55 years, Melvin Bullard, Jr.; and her brother Col.

Paul Newton Driggers, Jr. Carolyn was a spirited animal lover with an affinity for cats and dogs. Following her retirement as a nurse from the healthcare industry, Carolyn was able to spend her time taking care of her family and leading by example. She was an active volunteer and former member of the Marlboro Humane Society and a member of the Thomas Memorial Baptist Church in Bennettsville.

In her free time she loved to read and spend time with her loved ones. Carolyn will be truly missed for her caring demeanor. Left to cherish Carolyn’s memory are her daughter, Gina Bullard of Surfside Beach, SC as well as several nieces and nephews, a large loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00AM at McCall Cemetery, 212 North Cook St. Bennettsville, SC 29512. At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Carolyn’s name may be made to the Humane Society of Marlboro County, 242 Ag St. Bennettsville, SC 29512, or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123, or to the charity of one’s choice.
