OBITUARY Betty E. Tobey October 10, 1935 – December 21, 2018 Elizabeth “Betty” Jane Emonet Tobey age 83, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 21, 2018. She was a native of Opelousas, a longtime resident of Gonzales and parishioner of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church. She will be remembered by all who knew and loved her for her inspirational strength, determination, bravery, resilience, enthusiasm, and confidence in herself, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Beloved wife of the late John Avery Tobey, Jr. for 54 years. Daughter of the late Fred and Yola D. Emonet. Sister of late Shirley Emonet Delafosse.

Loving mother of Tracy Tobey Gay (Benton), John F. Tobey, and Kelly Tobey Elliot (Ted). Adoring Grandmother of Avery Wigglesworth. Betty was a graduate of Opelousas Catholic High School and devoted the rest of her life to her family.

Her family extends a special thank you and appreciation to all of her doctors and caregivers who helped make her final days comfortable. Betty will be clearly missed and forever kept in our hearts and prayers. Services are pending at this time.
