Betty I. Harer, 81, of Montgomery, died Monday, October 1, 2018 at the home of her daughter. Born September 16, 1937 in Penn Township, Snyder County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary (Engle) Hummel. She and her husband, Glenn D. “Rabbit” Harer, celebrated 51 years of marriage before his death Feb.

3, 2010. Betty worked at various local manufacturers and in the cafeteria at the Montgomery School. She was a former member of the Eagle Grange, Montgomery.

Betty enjoyed mowing and gardening. She was fond of cooking and loved spending time with her family. Surviving are three children and their spouses, Kim and Ed Ferguson, of Montgomery, Kevin and Jackie Harer, of Muncy and Keith Harer and Brenda Whipple Harer, of Montgomery; three brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Margarette Hummel, of Mifflinburg, Lester “Chub” and Shirley Hummel, of New Berlin and Carl and Darlis Hummel, of Mifflinburg; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. If friends so desire, contributions in Betty’s name may be made to Susquehanna Health Foundation c/o Home Care and Hospice, 1001 Grampian Blvd. , Williamsport, PA 17701.

The family is being assisted by Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
