Obituary for Betty J. Graves Betty Jean Graves, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 8 in the loving company of family at her home. She was born on December 10, 1928 in Columbus, Ohio to Mark and Alice (Mundy) Bauchmire. Her life was spent in devotion to her family including her husband of 73 years, three children, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She spent many years exploring the U.S. with her husband in their motor home and, in her later years, found a respite from the cold Ohio winters in her Florida home. She was known for her love of cooking, kindness to animals, and her fondness for the music of “young” Elvis. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, John Graves, Jr.; brother Jack Bauchmire; and sisters-in-law Samygene Bauchmire and June Graves.

She is survived by her husband, John; children Larry (Patty) Graves and Deborah (Tim) Brickner; grandchildren Amanda Weed (Joseph Francis), Megan (Tom) Kushner, Eric (Lizzie) Weed, and Johnna (Brad) Rogers; and great-grandchildren Sofia and Beau Kushner, Katia Weed, and Arden Rogers; brother-in-law Delbert Graves and sister-in-law Patty (Dick) Hoke; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends may pay their respects during visiting hours on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 E. Olentangy Street, Powell, Ohio 43065. A family funeral will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 11:00 AM which will be officiated by the Reverend Norman Moxley.
