Betty J. McLean July 23, 1925 – March 09, 2019 Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Betty J. McLean, age 93, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls. She was born on July 23, 1925 in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Garfield and Leona (Juneau) Harris. She attended and graduated from Stambaugh High School with the Class of 1944.

During WWII, she typed orders for the “Atom Bomb” and worked in a hospital in Chicago. Betty married William “Bill” McLean on July 19, 1947 and the couple celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary in 2018. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, St. Agnes Altar Society, the Lady Elks, and the 20th Century Club.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends. Betty is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Judith (Robert) Porier of Iron River; step grandchildren, Jeff (Judy) and Michael (Faye) Porier; six step great grandchildren; eight step great, great grandchildren; cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her step great grandson, Robert Porier.

Private services will be held. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
