Obituary for Betty Joe Holleman Betty Joe Holleman was born to the late Ralph and Carrie (Earls) McLarty in Okmulgee on Sunday, May 20, 1923. She passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the age of 95. Betty Joe started her business career in grade school by selling hotdogs and lemonade at the first rodeo in Morris, Oklahoma put on by Sam Shipley, Floyd Gail, and her father Ralph McLarty.
She skipped a grade in school because she was so smart. She met the love of her life Ott Holleman and they got married before he left for the War. After Ott returned from World War II, they became Partners in Holleman Iron and Metal Company in Okmulgee.
Betty was such a sweet lady that loved everyone. She was known for her down home cooking, whether it for her family every Sunday or for all the people at Holleman metal. Betty was an animal lover.
Her all time favorite horse was named Maud. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church, Elks Auxiliary, VFW, and the Association of Recycling. Preceding Betty Joe in death is her husband Arthur Lee Holleman, Sr., grandson Luke Holleman, brother Pat McLarty, and sister Charlene Lovett.
Those left to cherish all of the great memories of Betty is her children Carrieanna Holleman Mabrey, Arthur Lee Holleman, Jr. and wife Jill, and Randy Joe Holleman and wife Alice all of Okmulgee, grandchildren Mollyeanna Mabrey-Firch, Matt Mabrey and wife Andrea, Heather Holleman, Cassandra Holleman, BriAnne Riffe and husband Jason, Arthur Holleman, III and wife Valerie, Hannah Holleman and husband Chris, Katy Banning and husband Chris, Randy Holleman and wife Marie, and Benjamin Holleman and wife Amber, twenty-nine great grandchildren that all called her Sweet Grandma Fiffy Faffy, four great-great grandchildren, sister Mona Hoehner and husband Vince, brother in law Harrison Brace, and a multitude of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Okmulgee Cemetery with Father Joshua E. Litwack to officiate. Interment will follow.
