OBITUARY Betty Lou (Chandler) Stamey December 14, 1946 – October 26, 2018 Betty Lou Chandler Stamey Canton, NC – Betty Lou Chandler Stamey, age 71, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018. She was born in Haywood County, NC on December 14, 1946 to the late Starlie and Lucy Fisher Chandler. Betty had a special love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She enjoyed watching them play various sports and all of their activities. She had a passion for crocheting and knitting and left her family with many wonderful keepsakes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Nancy Smathers & Billy Chandler.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Marion Stamey; daughter, Melissa Palmer Parris; sons, William Palmer and wife, Amy and Stephen Palmer and wife, Carla; two granddaughters, Jessica Parris and Sidney Parris and one grandson, Jacob Palmer; two extra special great granddaughters, Parris and Charlie Mae; two brothers, Richard Chandler and Jimmy Chandler; sister and brother in law, Betty and Jerry Dillashaw and several nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held at White Oak Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 3 pm. Garrett Funeral Home has been entrusted with caring for the Stamey family.
