Betty Lou Southwood, 93 of Terre Haute passed away at Westminster Village on June 26, 2018. She was born in Terre Haute on May 14, 1925 to Thomas Earl Haverty and Norma (Hayward) Haverty . Betty was a high school History and Science teacher and was later the Activities Director for the Vigo County Home.

She is survived by daughters; Cynthia Sue (Southwood) Detwiler (Kenneth), Vicki Edythe Southwood, and Tracy Anne Southwood, sons; John Richard “Rick” Southwood, Kevin Thomas Southwood, and Michael Joseph “Mike” Southwood, seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be Friday, June 29, 2018 from 10:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. with Ken Detwiler officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made to www.
