OBITUARY Betty Mae McCLURE May 24, 1941 – November 20, 2018 Betty Mae McClure, 77, of East Peoria passed away on Tuesday November 20, 2018 at Rosewood in East Peoria IL surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Floyd E and Eva J (Turner) Allen on May 24, 1941 in Missouri. They preceded her in death.

Betty graduated from East Peoria High School. She was actively involved with her children’s and grandchildren’s school activities. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church in East Peoria and held a number of different positions there over the years.

Her father owned Allen Automotive in East Peoria. Betty loved going to the stock car races and cheering on the family team. In later years she enjoyed taking pictures of her family at gatherings and was even nicknamed “Grandma Flash”.

Betty married the love of her life William Michael McClure in 1961 in East Peoria IL. He preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Matt (Lena) McClure, Jill (Mark) Albright; grandchildren, Savannah (Brady) Andrews, Carter Wilbanks, Sierra McClure; one brother Larry (Becky) Allen, and sister-in-law Mary Allen.

Betty was preceded in death by her one brother Bobby Allen. A visitation will be held 9-11am on Monday November 26, 2018 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. A funeral service will be held 11am on Monday November 26, 2018 at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria Burial will follow at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Alzehimers Association.
