Betty Medich-Barker, 92, passed away at 7:25am Thursday, April 19, 2018 in Hospice House. Betty was born on August 18, 1925 in South Bend to George and Mary (Murial) Medich. She was employed by American Chain and Cable and Bendix.

Betty was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, was President of its Ladies Auxiliary, member of the Eastern Star #594 and a 1944 Riley High School graduate. On April 16, 1955 she married Fredrick Barker who survives along with a daughter Sheryl (Casey) Porter of Calgary, Alberta Canada, a son Dennis (Gigi Buzolich) Barker of Fort Wayne, 5 grandchildren Corey (Shelly) Barker, Mallory (Devin) Dimos, Brad Barker, Alex Porter and Holly Porter, and a brother George (Charlene) Medich of North Carolina.

Betty was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey L. Barker, 3 sisters Mildred Elliott, Mary Rose, and Helen Ullom and 2 brothers Fred Medich and Nick G. Medich. Visitation will be held from 4-8 Thursday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 South Kemble where a prayer service will be held at 7:00pm. Visitation will also take place on Friday from 10:00am until services in the church.

Funeral services will be celebrated at 11:00am Friday, April 27, 2018 in Sts. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
