Betty Ransom Merriman, 68, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019. She was born April 1, 1950 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Marvin Ransom and Flora Chavis Ransom. Betty was a long time member of Longview Baptist Church.

A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, 27545. Surviving: husband, Glen Allen Merriman; daughters: Melissa Mixon of Fuquay-Varina, Sherri McCraw of Raleigh; grandchildren: Amanda Locklear, Lindsey Hooker, Elizabeth Joyner, Truman Hooker; great-grandchildren: Emma Locklear, Elias Locklear; brother, David Ransom of Lumberton; sister, Dr. Cheryl Locklear of Pembroke, Angela Maynor of Carrboro; numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF.org.
