OBITUARY Betty Ruth McMurry September 9, 1925 – July 9, 2018 Betty Ruth McMurry was born in Royse City, Texas on September 9, 1925 to Olan Dewey McMurry, Sr., and Opal Carr McMurry. Betty attended school in Royse City, graduating in 1943. She later enrolled in Rutherford Business School in Dallas and after completing her course there, she was employed by Lone Star Gas Company in Dallas as a secretary in the sales department.

She worked at Lone Star Gas Company for 40 years, retiring in 1985. After a short illness, Betty passed away on July 9, 2018 in Arlington, Texas. Betty is survived by her sister Helen McMurry and her brother Olan’s 3 children: Nancy Bridges, Steven Mark McMurry, and Judie Churchill.

Her brother Olan passed away in August, 2016. Betty will be buried in Royse City with her parents.
