Betty Matherne, age 87, born in Bayou Perot, LA and a resident of Abita Springs, LA passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Charles L. Matherne for 50 years. Mother of Farren Matherne, Sr., Carlos Matherne, Kevin Matherne and the late Keith Matherne.

Step-mother of the late Diane Michelle. Daughter of the late August and Sidonia Billiot. Also survived by brothers, Anthony “Tony” Billiot and Randolph Thibodaux.

Sister of the late Evelyn Gisclair, Alma Billiot, Ethyl Juge, Benny Billiot, Alvin Billiot, Clarence Billiot, and Kilben Billiot. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and numerous Great Grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. She was so Holy and so Beloved even the priest that gave her communion called her Saint Betty.

She was a member of United Houma Nation, Lay Carmelite Community and founder of the Kateri Circle of Marrero, LA . Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expwy. , Harvey, LA on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1pm.

Interment, Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning from 9am until 1pm. Family and friends may view and sign the online guest book at www.
