Betty S. Waldo, age 78, of Bonner Springs, KS. and previously of Edwardsville, KS. , passed away on Sunday, February 24th, 2019 at her home.

The will be a Celebration of her life from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10th, at the Harrington Family Event Center, 218 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS. 66012. Betty was born on January 16, 1941 in Montreal, Arkansas.

She had many accomplishments that she was proud of including her children and grandchildren. Betty was also proud of her time on the Edwardsville City Council and leading her Neighborhood Crime Watch, to help make Edwardsville a safer place to live. In 2018, the City of Edwardsville, Edwardsville Police & Fire Department, and the Friends of the F.O.P. #42, recognized her with an award for her service to the community.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Clifford Waldo, Sr. and by one son Joel E. Morris. Survivors include; daughter Connie Burch and husband Danny, son James Waldo and wife Vickey, Daughter Susy Nighswonger and husband Richard, 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. “Her battle with Kidney disease took its toll on her body.

In January of 2018 she began dialysis treatments three times weekly. Our Mom was tired, the many trips to the hospital had worn her out, and on February 8th she took her last treatment. For 15 days she visited with family and friends, and she left us on the 16th morning.
