Betty Whitfield, 77, a resident of Dayton, TN passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at her home. She was born on September 30, 1941 to Virgil and Gladys Elder. Betty was a unique and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her.

With her witty humor and antics, she kept everyone on their toes. She is preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Gladys Elder, son Danny “Dane” Crawford Whitfield, sisters Suely Gothard and husband Tom, Mattie May Hixson and husband Ronald,… Read More » Mary Louise Suttles and husband Ray and Bertha Rose Sinnett and husband Jimmy, brothers Johnny Elder and wife Essie and Bill Elder and her long-term companion Cecil Day and their dog “Abby”. She is survived by her daughter Robin Roberts and companion Jim Davis, her granddaughter Elizabeth Roberts Tieman and husband Tim, 8 hot mess great grand dogs, many nieces and nephews, as well as many beloved friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Spivey UMC Church located at 3680 Blythe Ferry Road in Dayton, TN. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 6:00 PM with the Reverend Bill Ewing and Elizabeth Tieman officiating.
