Phippsburg – Beverly J. Koehling, 78, passed away peacefully at her home, with her family by her side on Thursday, Oct 4, 2018. She was born in Bath Maine on August 17, 1940 the daughter of Warren and Abby (Wallace) Gilliam. She grew up in Phippsburg, attended local schools.

Beverly was employed at several places throughout her life. Bath Laundry, Sebasco Lodge, Hillhouse, cleaned cottages at Wyman’s Campground and retiring from Winship Green Nursing Home employed as a CNA, the job she was most proud of. Beverly was a single mom of 5 for 34 years, something that she worked very hard at.

Her family was her first priority, she was a woman with very few wants and not many needs. She could always find a second use for most things. Beverly always looked forward to family gatherings with her family, 29+ grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

She loved each and everyone of them. In her spare time, Beverly loved to knit or crochet, going to the casino, camping in her younger years, loved to go on trips to see her son in Farmington, or her granddaughter in New York. Boothbay was another highlight, to get the onion rings from Karen’s Hid-A-Way.

She is predeceased by her husband, Emil Koehling Sr., 2 brothers, Henry Gilliam & Alver Gilliam She leaves behind; 5 children, Emil Koehling Jr & wife Merita of Farmington, Joyce Williams & husband George of Phippsburg, Bonnie Williams & husband Wayne of Phippsburg, Mark Koehling of Phippsburg, David Koehling & wife Lisa of Phippsburg; a brother, John Gilliam of Phippsburg; sister-in-law, Roberta Gilliam of Phippsburg; and a special friend, Betty Crocker of Bath; nieces & nephews. The family would like to thank “CHANS” Hospice for the exceptional care they gave to their mom, with a special thank you to the Phippsburg Fire and Rescue, for all the trips they made together. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Oct 20, 2018 at 1:00pm at Morningside Cemetery, Phippsburg.
