Billy Ray Phillips, 52, of Kinston, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. He was preceded in death by his father, Monroe Phillips, Sr. and his brother, Bobby Phillips. Billy worked as a logger for over 40 years.

He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He loved spending time with his family. He will always be remembered and loved by all who knew him.

Left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Cynthia Phillips; mother, Hazel Jones Phillips; son, Anthony Batchelor; step-daughter, Melissa Lewis; sister, Debbie Phillips Mobley; brother, Monroe Phillips, Jr.; nephew, C.J. Jones; nieces, Sandy Mobley, Christy Cole, Monica Tyndall; and a special friend, Elaine Jackson, whom he loved like a mother. As well as many special family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Garner Funeral Home.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. following visitation. Burial will follow the service at the Phillips-Collins family cemetery in Maysville, NC.
